Airbrush Paints: A Quick look!
When it comes to your airbrush, these are our favourite paints and they give you and your model excellent coverage!
Pro–Color
The finest pigments and high-quality acrylic resin polymers are used to make Pro-Color acrylic airbrush paints. Offering unlimited creative options they adhere excellently to paper, cardboard, textiles, acetate, plastic and metals. They come pre-thinned and ready to use straight from the bottle Pro-Color is an excellent choice for beginners.
Tamiya Mini Acrylics
Manufactured from water-soluble acrylic resins that are excellent for either airbrush or brush painting.
These paints can be used on all sorts of surfaces including Styrofoam, wood, and all of the common model plastics.
With excellent coverage, smooth flow and no fading or blushing, blending is a breeze. To be suitable for airbrush, Tamiya Mini Acrylic paints need to be reduced with Tamiya X-20A thinners. Available in Gloss or Flat (Matt)
Vallejo Range:
Metal Color:
Especially well-suited for airbrushing. The latest generation of aluminium pigments produce colours of exceptional resistance and adherence to plastics and metal.
You don’t need a primer for direct application to models.
Mecha Color:
This is a new range of acrylic airbrush colours from the Vallejo stable. Designed especially for Gundam, Robots, Gunplas figures and Transformers. You can use Though Mecha Color can be used straight from the bottle with an 0.2mm nozzle airbrush it is best to thin it for a smoother more even paint flow.
Panzer Aces:
Matt and opaque water-based acrylic colors, developed especially for brush-on use. Each color has been developed to offer the modeler a quick and practical system for painting the tank crews of World War II.
The color range has been chosen to simplify the painting process and includes all the shades needed for the uniforms of the German, American, British, Italian, French, Russian and Japanese crews, using the popular figure painting technique of base color, shadow and highlights. It is best to apply the colors on a previously primed surface; they dry rapidly and form a homogenous and self-leveling surface while preserving even the smallest detail of the model. Panzer Aces performs extremely well on all supports and the adherence of the paint on resin, plastic, steel and white metal is excellent.
Model Air
With extraordinary adhesion to resin, plastics, white metal and steel models, Model Air is a must for the model maker. The wide range of colours is ideal for various models of airbrush. This water based formula acrylic paints with highest pigment concentration is especially developed for brush-on application. Available as Matt and opaque. To use with an airbrush, you should thin Model Colors with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner to reach a milky consistency.
